Lucy Baldwin

Lucy BALDWIN, the daughter of Henry BALDWIN and Sarah ALLEN was born 9 May 1790 in Woddbridge, New Haven Co., CT. She married John BESSE/BESSEY who was born about 1788 somewhere in NY. Family records say they were married in Montezuma, NY but no record has been found. Several of their children were born in NY before they moved to MI in the early 1830's. John and his family are found in the Wheatland Twp., Racine Co.,WI census in 1840 and although they did not move they are listed in Kenosha Co., WI in 1850. Lucy died 22 Jul 1881 in WI.

9. Caroline BESSE b. 22 Oct 1837 in MI. m. 1) Truman FISH 2) Ebenezer Howard Hanchett on 25 Feb 1858 in Geneva, Walworth Co, WI. d. 20 Oct 1903 in Rudd, Floyd Co., IA. Buried in Ulster Cemetery south of Rudd.

The order on the children is not certain. Guesses have been made from census and will records.
