James W. WALKER was born about Feb1839 in Ireland. He was the son of John WALKER and Dorothy HILLIS. The family moved to PA where he married Rebeka _______ about 1860. Her parents are unknown.James was a blacksmith in Taylorstown, Buffalo Twp., Washington Co., PA according to the 1870 and 1880 census of that county. In 1881 he responded to a letter from John Walker to travel to IL and take care of him in his old age. In return, John would deed him his land. James sold his business, packed up his family and moved to Brown Co., IL where John was living. John backed out of the deal and sold his land to David Walker, another son.
James stayed on in Brown Co. and became the Mt. Sterling policeman, a position he held for many years. Rebeka/Rebecca died 25 Mar 1883 and is buried in Kinman Cemetery, Missouri Twp. James died Feb. 28, 1900 aged 61 yrs. 10 days and is buried in the Mr. Sterling City Cemetery

Rebeka/Rebecca died 25 Mar 1883. James died 28 Feb 1900 and is buried in the Mr. Sterling City Cemetery.
