Richard Austin RAPER was b. 13 Oct 1852 in Schuler Co., IL. (1) He was the son of Augustus F. RAPER and Caroline Alice PARSONS. He moved with his family to Taylor Co., IA m. Espedia Eunice POWELL 5 Feb 1877 in Taylor Co., IA.(2) She is the daughter of Lewis F. POWELL and Mary P. IRISH. Austin and Speedie lived in Iowa for several years before returning to IL about 1892. (3) After a period of time they again traveled to Taylor Co. where Austin died in a train accident on 23 Sep 1906.(4) He is buried in Dallas Center Cemetery, Taylor Co., IA. (5)There are 11 children of Richard and Espedia.

xi. Lewis Fredrick RAPER b. 5 Oct 1901 in IL. He married Beaulah Rebecca JORDAN about 1924. Lewis died 26 Dec 1965 in San Diego, CA and is buried at Ft. Rosecrans National Cemetery. (16)
