Eda Estella Raper was born 11 Feb 1880 in New Market, Taylor Co., IA. (1) She was the daughter of Richard Austin RAPER and Espedia Eunice POWELL. When Eda was about 12, her family moved to IL. There she met and married James WALKER on 29 Jan 1896 in Industry, McDonough Co., IL.(2) He was the son of Charles WALKER and Elizabeth MADDOX. (3)

i. Mary Elizabeth WALKER b. 7 Jan 1897 in Doddsville, Schuyler Co., IL.(4) On 4 Sep 1920 she married Gurney MCBAIN in Minneapolis, Hennepin Co., MN. (5) She died 24 Sep 1986 in Eldora, Hardin Co., IA (6) She is buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike, Grundy Co., IA. (7)ii. Nina Marie WALKER b. 10 Oct 1898 in Schulyer Co., IL. She married 1) James SUMNER before Sept 1918. 2) Virgil T. HUTCHESON 19 Sep 1944 in Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO. (8) There were 8 children children from 1st marriage, 4 of whom grew to adulthood. Nina died 20 Dec 1947 in Kansas City, Jackson Co., MO.
James and Eda were separated by 1900 when Eda is found living with her brother in Taylor Co., IA. (9) Eda married again, this time to Robert Alonzo ELIOT 17 May 1904 in Clarinda, Page Co., IA. (10)

b. 13 Nov 1909 IA m. 1) Harold Benjamin FICKESS before 1932 in Cedar Falls, IA (14) 1 known child
from 1st marriage. They were divorced and she married (2)Neils P. HANSEN before 1934. She died in CA after 1989
iv. Ivan Wibur ELIOT b. 19 Jan 1912 m. Margory ADAMS 9 May 1937 Taylor Co., IA (15) 2 known children. He worked for the railroad in Odgen, UT. He died of a heart attack there 14 Jun 1950.
v. Wyota Adele ELIOT b. 14 Mar 1814 Taylor Co., IA m. Elmer LeRoy PIPER before 1934 (16) 1 known child. They were divorced and she married _______ PRUITT. She died in San Franciso, San Franciso Co., CA 16 Nov 1969
Eda died 2 Mar 1934 in Cedar Falls, Black Hawk Co., IA. (17) She is buried in the Dallas Center Cemetery near New Market, Taylor Co., IA. (18) Alonzo was married again after Eda died to Mary L. Harmon in Maryville, TN on 24 Aug 1936. It is not known when he died.
Little is known about Nina other than she and James has a large family, some of whom died at an early age. I would enjoy hearing from anyone from her family so I can add them to my history. The same holds true for the children of the second marriage, especially Ivan and Wyota. jensen@binhost.com
