Albert Lincoln JENSEN was born 8 Feb 1923 in Missouri Valley, Harrison Co., IA. He was the third son of Lauritz Christian JENSENand Mathilde Christina PAULSEN. He attended and graduated from the high school in that town.
He met his first wife Eloise (Lois) Estella MCBAIN, daughter of Gurney MCBAIN and Mary Elizabeth WALKER at a church meeting he attended at the Bible Camp in Cedar Falls with his mother and two older brothers. He moved to Cedar Falls where he lived on Olive Street across the street from the McBains. At that time he worked at the Ford Hopkins Drug Store in Waterloo as a clerk. He rode the trolly car or bus to and from work.
In February of 1943 he was drafted into the service. He started with the A Co 86 INF REP BLT at Comp Roberts, CA where he trained a an anti-tank gunner. After a short time he joined the Army band. He later transferred to H Co. and became a radio operator with command post. After training he ws shipped to the Pacific area. Much of the time he was aboard ship and seasick everytime. The one time he was not, he became landsick after he landed. Time was spent on many islands. On Vela LaVella he experienced an earthquake.
After his discharge on 23 Dec 1945, he returned to Cedar Falls and was married to Lois MCBAIN on 13 Jan 1846. They moved to Muscatine, IA where their daughter was born. Albert was working as an apprentice at Carver Pump Co. They were there for two years. They returned to Waterloo, IA and Albert worked at John Deere for two years. In 1950 they moved to Ames, IA where he worked for 6 weeks in construction with his brothers. He returned again with his family to Waterloo and John Deere until 2 Sep 1952. They moved to Cedar Falls, IA and he again changed jobs, this time to Midwest Pattern Co. He and Lois were divorced 18 Dec 1867.
Albert and Lois had 3 children. All are still living
Albert moved then to Waterloo where he met and married his second wife in 1970. He finished working on 8 Feb 1985 at Midwest Pattern Co., and kept active for his remaining years working on projects around his home. He died 25 Jan 1995 and his body was cremated.
